Over all these years I have watched people struggling - with their lives,
and/or their 'spiritual' search. Conclusion? - A lot of stuckness.
What I have noticed is that mostly, people tackle the things that are not
too difficult, and thus not very relevant; or are impossible.
Neither brings a life/consciousness changing experience.
The discomfort of change avoided.
Mostly, 'spiritual' people try to avoid the sexual/jealousy issue.
Meditation practices, gurus, retreats, even Tantra, but The Big Subject of
jealousy - avoided.
Some examples:
One person I know left their wife about thirty years ago.
The marriage was hopeless in the first place.
Had to get married to realise it, and a few other lessons.
Now, although the man is now with a different woman from the one he left his
wife for (been a few in between as) the ex-wife will not go to any venue
where the woman he is with now is there. Nor will she 'allow' her 'children'
to - who are now in their thirties! Insane - literally. I hear the new
partner is like that as well. (We keep putting ourselves into the same
situation - until we 'get it.')
Another one.
A man left his wife, floated around a bit, and now, the woman he is living
with now goes nuts (and I mean nuts - hysterical) if he even says hello to
any of his old girl friends.
And many, many more.
What is not realised is that around this subject, both men and women are
sick. Very, very sick. I mean it - sick. But because it is 'normal' or even
socially and religiously justified, we are not evolving very fast. To put it
mildly. This is one of the major factors inhibiting our growth into
something more socially balanced. Love has absolutely nothing whatsoever to
do with this stupid behaviour. Just the opposite in fact.
I put it to you...
We are here to experience - especially the things we are avoiding
experiencing. We are here to live. To 'have a life' and exciting adventures
- experiences that do not seem safe and predictable.
Look. Please, look - at the level of life that most people live!
Do we really think that that is what Life is all about?
Can this mundane boring repetitive way of living be what it is all about?
Was it worth going through the birth experience for? Again and again?
Suggestion:
Take a holiday - let it all go and go away on your own - even if for a short
time. And live, unconditionally, and see what life brings to you.
Happy and adventurous holiday, and have fun!
