AletaStJames_9188Alt_275   As the leaves fall and the temperatures dip, a feeling of transition and change in definitely in the air. But this month is marking more than just a change in the seasons -- it's chock full of birthdays!

Several very close friends, not to mention myself AND my beloved twins, Gian and Francesca (pictured with me, below, at their recent birthday party), are all celebrating our birthdays in November, so it's an ideal time to discuss something we all have strong opinions and feelings about-- aging.

In my way of thinking, I prefer the term ageless. As anyone who knows me is aware, age to me is just a number. Even after my 50th birthday, when I felt so strongly it was the time for me to become a mother, I had no doubt I would do it--age was simply not going to stop me. I knew in my heart I was destined to have my children, and my body would support me to fulfill my destiny. My gorgeous twins are now 7 years old, and I'm proud to say, I'm now 64, and have never felt more vibrant and excited about life. Focusing on the life force energy within is the key to agelessness.

A dear friend of mine celebrated his 60th last week, and he's such an inspiration. Over lunch one day, he noted his philosophy about aging: "The mind is the body's most powerful anti-aging tool," he says, "you can eat right, take vitamins, but your mind comes first in staying and feeling young." "You must consciously decide not to age," he added. "There is a big core level of acceptance in our society that accepts aging as in inevitability, and it's as permeating and false as the earth is flat. But it's just as false." How true!

My friend is a wonderful example of this; he's perpetually youthful in his thoughts, actions and interactions; he truly seems ageless. So many people have accepted that 'aging' is inevitable, and go about their lives living out the programs, beliefs and ideals that our parents, families, teachers, society socioeconomic background, etc., instilled in us. Too often, those programs are negative, and virtually ignore the unlimited source energy of our authentic self. That miracle energy I talk so often about. But have you ever decided for yourself, beyond that old programming, what YOU believe about aging? More and more studies are telling us that our DNA is directly affected by our thoughts, and beliefs, and that the mind-body connection is more than merely spiritual -- it's science.

I can tell you from personal experience, that this is true: Joy, fulfillment, success and happiness simply do not have an age, and every day, I constantly work to come from that Source energy, and one of the keys to my success in helping others transform their lives, is to help them connect to their Source energy. As we hold that miracle energy within our body, we can literally start to reverse the aging process, and that's further amplified with the cutting-edge anti-aging technologies such as telomeres, growth hormone, and embryonic cell treatment, that is now becoming more available to the general public, coupled with energy work, body work, supplements and various detoxification therapies. A recent book I contributed to, The Immortality Edge, is also great resource, and I go into detail about this amazing resource here.

Armed with these new resources, I've seen first-hand people in their 50s, 60s and 70s, winning ball room dance contests and competing in triathlons.

And as I look into my own future, I am reminded of all the incredible women who are so vibrant and living big lives in their 70s and 80s -- such as Jane Fonda and Louise Hay, to name just a few -- and I'm even more excited by my future. I truly believe the best is yet to come.

So what do YOU believe about aging? Is there a abiding passion in your life, that makes you want to stay young and vital? Too many people walk around so disconnected from their true self, that they can feel half-dead as they go through life. Who wants to feel ageless when life is so painful, right? But when you can truly feel that inner life force, your intrinsic inner self, propelling you on, and living in that joy right now, you're well on your way to agelessness.

Take some time now, meditate, be quiet and really be honest with yourself. What beliefs come up for you about aging? Write it down in a journal, and share any thoughts in the 'comments' section, your insight can be of great benefit to yourself, and others.

Whenever I've had people ask me if having children at such a late age was selfish, because I wouldn't be able to be with them later in life, my response is to laugh to myself, and with a twinkle in my eye say, "I'm going to live to 120!" I'm betting I can do just that.

Blessings,

Aleta
